   It's crucial that you act quickly to remove water from your home and prevent expensive secondary damages. One of the most serious issues is microbial growth, which can begin spreading through the structure within 24 hours if the right conditions are present. Unfortunately, the removal of microbial growth is often not covered by insurance policies, meaning you would have to pay for it yourself. To avoid this costly outcome, we strongly recommend you start the water removal process right away, rather than waiting for your insurance claim to be processed. 

    If you discover water in your home, it's crucial to take the following steps in quick succession: 

 STEP 1: Call Animikii Restorations for prompt water removal, drying, and documentation services to support your insurance claim. If your location falls within our service area, we can arrive within 30 minutes. 

STEP 2:  If you have a plumbing or roofing issue, you'll need to call the appropriate tradesperson - a plumber for pipe problems, a roofer for roof issues, and so on. Unfortunately, your insurance provider typically does not cover causation repairs. However, if you're unsure of the source of the problem, Animikii can help you locate where the water is coming from. 

STEP 3:  Notify your insurance provider about the water damage and inform them that Animikii Restorations is assisting you. 

    We will work closely with you to develop the most cost-effective solution tailored to your home and budget. Ultimately, our goal is to prevent the risk of microbial growth growing in your home, affecting your and your family's health.

    Regularly monitoring the drying equipment and making necessary adjustments is crucial for drying your home as quickly as possible. Ideally, the equipment and drying progress should be checked every 24 hours to ensure a complete dryout and make any needed adjustments. Expect 2-4 visits of varying durations to fully dry out your home. 

    Prompt action is crucial when addressing water damage in your home. The sooner the water is extracted, the less extensive the drying and repair process will be. After removing the majority of the standing water, though some puddles may remain, we will deploy all the necessary equipment to thoroughly dry out your property. 

    As standard practice, the Animikii Restorations crew removes baseboards and installs vent holes below the caulking line. These vent holes serve two key purposes: they allow the cavity inside the wall to dry, and they provide access to otherwise inaccessible areas, such as behind cabinets and tile walls, without requiring extensive material removal.

    For safety, if the damage is severe, some drywall may be removed to ensure no one on the property is at risk of injury from falling debris.

    If additional work is needed, we will inform you of the specifics and explain the reasons. We will then give you the option to have us complete that work now or wait until your next visit.
